Dr. Aline LaPierre is the creator of NeuroAffective Touch® and the founding director of the NeuroAffective Touch Institute focusing on integrating psychotherapy with the therapeutic use of touch.Â
She is the co-author of Healing Developmental Trauma: How Trauma Affects Self-Regulation, Self-Image, and the Capacity for Relationship, now available in twelve languages and author of the chapter Touch as the Primary Element of Sensual and Erotic Expression in the series Sexual Health by Praeger Publishing.Â
Dr. LaPierre taught for ten years in the Somatic Doctoral Program at Santa Barbara Graduate Institute. She is a graduate of Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, and of The New Center for Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles. A Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, she is trained in many bodywork modalities such as BodyMind Centering, EMDR, Neuromuscular Therapy, and Visceral Manipulation.
Aline is Deputy Editor of The International Body Psychotherapy Journal, and past Vice-President of the United States Association for Body Psychotherapy (USABP). She maintains a private practice in Los Angeles, California.
